Taste it, and then follow your gut. What I do when I'm making new recipes (which is basically all the time ) is rack from my primary 6.5 gal carboys into 1 gal jugs and then I add varying amounts of hops / spices and leave one gallon untouched, that way I have a control.
in most every case I have found that adding flavors in the secondary always improves my product, but be careful because you can definitely go overboard and overpower the body of the cider / beer. For the record, that sounds delicious, cheers.
