Looking for a partial mash recipe for bells smitten golden rye ale. Searched the forums and could not find one.

Sent from my SPH-L710 using Home Brew mobile app

Old thread but figured I'd give some info I dug up last year. An email from the bells general store:

Use around 25% rye malt – I like malted rye but flaked rye should do the trick as well.

Add a little munich for body and the remainder is base malt.

Cascade is the dominant hop – a bittering addition, another around 15 minutes and another at flameout. Dry hop cold with Cascade as well.

I hope that’s helpful for you. Let me know how it turns out.

Haven't tried it yet but will some day. Smitten is one of my favorite beers!

How about this for a partial mash recipe:

2.5 lb Rye Malt
.75 lb Munich 10L
6.3 lb Pale extract

1oz Cascade @60min
1oz Cascade @15min
1oz Cascade Dry hop

Yeast: Safale 5

OG: 1.059
26.5 IBUs
8.3 SRM

If a typical BU:GU value for APA is 0.7, for a 1.060 beer shouldn't the IBU be around 40-42?

I'm drinking it right now and it tastes higher than 26 IBU.
