Belgian skunk? flavour
I have now had two beers with a strong flavour that I do not love.
The flavour leaves a strong aftertaste.
I have noticed this flavour most strongly in:
Sam Adams' Begian Session
Schlafley's Golden Ale
...I understand that the skunk-is flavour is typical of this style... I simply am not a fan.
I really can't tell if it is Diacetyl, Skunk, Cardboard, DMS, or something else that I am tasting.
So here are my questions:
What is this flavour called?
Why does it sometimes show up in my home brew?
How can I best avoid this flavour in my home brew?
