Ive been reading alot on kegs and kegging beer instead of bottle but havent really seen how much beer life most people get out of a keg. Can you age a beer in a Corney keg for 8months to a year and still come out with a tasty brew? What about after you tap it... How long can you let it be tapped before it might go skunky. thanks for any input... im slowly learning:mug:

Life of beer in keg: unlimited.*
(* As long as you treat the beer properly and follow proper techniques.)

Main enemies of beer:
1. Heat. Keep the keg cool. The colder the slower all the again processes occur.
2. Oxygen. Purge the keg well and keep it under CO2 pressure.
3. Light. Not a problem with kegs, they are light impermeable.
(4. (not really an enemy of beer per se, but can ruin an otherwise good beer) Bacteria/wild yeast. Be very, very thorough with sanitation. The longer the beer sits the more obvious lacking sanitation will be noticeable.)

I have 2 questions to the things you listed:
1. Is it bad if the keg gets too cold? Like 35-33F?
2. How do you purge a commercial keg that has a sankey tap??

1. No, 33-35 is a great temp for storing kegs.
2. For homebrew? IDK, someone else though. If it is commercial, then it comes purged. Pushing the beer with CO2 over a hand pump will keep it fresh.
