Cascade hops on the vine. They had an early start this year so I got to cultivate them today. They are being dried as I post this. I think I can cut the vines back and add fertilizer, there are more shoots trying to come up so I might get a second harvest. . Does anyone know why the last cone on the vine leafs out like in the pic...? every vine is like this. By the way... 2 lbs 10oz....of love

Lots of names for those feathered terminal cones: hop angels, hop birds, etc.
Some strains are quite prone to them, with Chinook and Cascade probably high up on that list.

It's considered an undesirable trait in the commercial space but I think they're pretty cool. These were Chinook cones from a couple seasons ago...

Wow. Those are awsome. How old is your vine. My cascade is 7 years. I left the angels on the vine for good luck to the next harvest.
