I was in San Diego last month and being going back every couple weeks or so to hang out with a buddy.

The only thing I"ve been drinking is Grunion and wow.. i really like it.

I get it every time i go down to SD and always take a growler home with me back to LA.

Just curious if anyone has a rough recipe that is close.

thanks

i don't have a recipe but try something like this out. What I do know is the malt is marris otter and the hops are mosaic and calypso. You could move the hops around to your preference. Maybe add more add whirlpool for more aromatics.

Grunion Clone
American Pale Ale
All Grain
5.5 Gallons
OG = 1.055
FG = 1.013
5.5 %

Efficiency Target = 70%

10.5 # Marris Otter (89.4%)
1.25 # CaraPils (10.6%)

1.5 oz Calypso - 15 minutes
1.5 oz Mosaic - 15 minutes
.5 oz Calypso - Whirlpool
.5 oz Mosaic - Whirlpool
1.5 oz Calypso - Dry Hop
1.5 oz Mosaic - Dry Hop

1 vial - White Labs, WLP001 California Ale yeast (Have it on good authority that this is what Ballast Point uses for Grunion). Based off a ballast point video they add gypsum to their water, but that depends on your water profile.

Mash @152 for 60 minutes
