I am starting to build up some crud in my knurls on my Barley crusher rollers, and tried a brass wire brush. I have been conditioning my grains before crushing, and love the results, but am noticing alot of embedded malt powder in my rollers. I took the hopper off and tried brushing with wire brush, but alot remains. Anybody out there have a secret to share?

Run a batch of dry grain through it. It works for me. And consider cutting back a little on the conditioning water. That too worked for me.

It's a lot easier to clean out the roller knurling if you do it immediately, so when you do your conditioned crush, reserve some dry grain to run through the mill at the end...

Cheers!
