Any apple tree/apple type experts?

Bought a house that has two apple trees in the backyard...

I know this is probably a shot in the dark, but anyone know what type of apples these are and whether they're good enough to press?

They look like some type of Malus Domestica :D

But seriously, I have no idea, how do they taste? Sweet? Tart? Aromatic? Bitter? Assuming they're not purely ornamental you should be able to make a halfway decent cider.

The trees look pretty healthy, though not much fruit by the looks of it. With minimal upkeep you could easily get a consistent harvest every fall.
 
The first one looks like a russet apple, they usually make good cider. The second one looks similar to my kid's orange red, but I doubt if that is right. The only way to find out is make some cider.
 
We already stripped them of apples. My brother is going to press them.

The trees need a good trimming for sure...bring on the winter!
