It's Halloween. I don't go crazy, nor am I a sculpting guru, but thinning out the pumpkin wall and carving the Jack-O-Lantern always is a race with time and the weather as to how long before Mr. O-Lantern droops to a sad state of his/her former self.

I'd read about soaking in bleach, and realized the very critters making munchie meals on Mr O-Lantern would likely succumb to StarSan just as they would to bleach. I also happened to be making some Yooper's Haus Pale Ale the day I carved Mr. O-Lantern, and as I was putting everything away I decided to give the pumpkin a spray down. The weather warmed the day before Halloween and I saw plenty molding pumpkins in the neighborhood, but not mine.
