High gravity brewing in Tulsa is closed for good. In addition to supplies, they also had a small brewery and a winery and they produced The Wort Hog electric brewing systems. Just another example that the homebrewing hobby is still shrinking I suppose.

It's kind of a triple whammy for that business model. They expanded to a bigger building and then dumped tons of capital into various alcohol production operations. While drinking and brewing are on the incline, it's a great cost synergy. On the other side, where we are now, it's crushing overhead.

Yeah, Bobby, I’m wondering if the rent of their commercial space was just too much or perhaps it was lease renewal time and the property owner was looking for an increase or a long term commitment? I would think the brewery would cover the costs on its own, but I suppose that wasn’t happening. They were a long time sponsor of the basic brewing podcast and stopping in at their pub/store was on my bucket list when I retire and will go on coast to coast journeys…
