Another Bar Build Thread

So it started out as buying a kegerator and that wasnt good enough, and the new house had a cutout from the previous owner who had a kitchenette. So here is the full bar build.

Beginning with the framing.

Its about 6' on the front and just over 3 on the short side.

I used 3/4" oak hardwood ply and 6" Red oak for the edging.

I bought a pocket hole jig and it really gave a good look to the joints.

Here is the front before staining

For the underlayment, I used MDF... i think or OSB. It worked great.

I used 3/4" Maple for the top and purchased the bar rails from a place in Frederick MD. I couldnt be happier with their bar rails.

Here is the bar stained Red Oak.

At this point I got worried I used Maple for the top. It looked pretty plain.

I decided to lacquer the bar instead of polyurethane or Clear Coat epoxy.

Now just to finish the decorating and the shelving behind and I will other house projects to begin. Hope you enjoyed the bar build. First beer on tap was Sierra Nevada Summer Fest.

Was it hard to cut the 45 for the bar rails? I'm scared to make that cut myself. It's expensive and I don't have much to spare for mistakes. I might contract the cut out and see if I can get the corner rounded.

So the place I bought them from had a video online showing how to do it. I miss cut it once but had about 1-2' extra on each piece so it turned out fine. http://www.hardwoodsincorporated.com

That's why I have a bar now! I came on HBT to do research in homebrewing and then I ended up with a new bar in my basement.
