Hey Folks,
I recently received an email newsletter from Austin Homebrew Supply informing me that they had released their limited addition White Christmas Stout ingredient kit. It sold out in less than 2 hours.

Does ANYONE have the recipe for this?

I got an email for this and couldn't get there quick enough .. it sold out .. i'm very interested in this beer as well .. as the name combines my two favorite styles .. white wheats and stouts ..

I'd too would love to see this recipe if anybody has it!

It's a partial mash kit.

5lb Extra Pale LME
1lb Light DME
1lb Crystal 40
1lb Pale Malt
1.25 Flaked Barley
1.35 Flaked Oats

1oz Galena 60min
1oz Glacier 15min
8oz whole coffee beans 5mins

and i choose White Labs British Ale 005

8 lb pale malt
1.25 lb flaked oats
1.25 lb flaked barley
1 lb crystal 40

.8 oz Galena @ 60 min
1 oz Glacier @ 15 min
8 oz whole coffee beans @ 5 min

Mash @ 150 degrees for 60 minutes

Sparge @ 170 degrees for 60

60 minute boil

I used WLP London Ale @ 68 degrees

Flaked grains are usually mashed. For people who have never mashed before and want to use a base malt or flaked grain in a recipe, do what you always do, except use about 1/2 gallon of water per pound of grain and do the "steep" in the temperature range between 148 and 158 degrees for 45-60 minutes. If there is no base malt or very little in your recipe, add a teaspoon of amylase enzyme powder from your local homebrew shop.

Sorry to revive an old thread but I am curious how this turned out. Did drinking it remind you of a stout? Would like to play an optical illusion on my buddies. Cheers
