I used it in my first brew (still fermenting), and so far have no basis for comparison.

Is it as advertised (increased body and head retention)? Should I use it in all my brews? Any instances where it should not be used?

Brewvint Body Builder is mostly malto dextrin.
Malto dextrin is used in most styles and often as a bottling sugar. I have only used malto dextrin in one stout. Personally, I would use any AHS kit straight without Body Builder. They have all had appropriate mouth feel.
Should not be used?: any beer that won't be on the tongue long, like a lawnmower beer.

I wouldn't use it with any light bodied or particularly dry beers. Then again, I would rather try to achieve what the Body Builder does by choosing particular grains.
