I brewed Denny Conn's Robust Vanilla porter this weekend and it is currently fermenting away. I want to split this batch in 2 and add coffee to one half bourbon to the other. I have a couple questions about this:

-Denny's recipe calls for 375mL of bourbon. That's 12.6 ounces. For my half batch I am thinking of using 6 ounces. From some other things I have read, that seems like a lot. I don't want to over power my brew. Is the 6 ounces a good amount?

-I have never used coffee before in a beer. I have read a variety of things about amounts and how to add it. Does anyone have a tried and true method they use when adding coffee to a porter?
