I read awhile back that some people used the 3 piece Airlock and attacked a hose to it for a blow off. I also read along time ago (i had forgotten to do this) but to cut the bottom part off so it isn't restricted. Well i was sitting on my couch watching Empire Strikes Back when about 5 feet to my left I here a loud "Pop"....the bottom of the airlock got clogged and the Blow off....literally "blew off"...I guess fermentation is going well...
Moral of the story...at the bottom of the 3 piece airlock there is a small plastic "x" that will restrict/clog...I suggest removing it!
