My sage was 2-3 inches tall already and doing really well, so that was a real bummer. It should pop back up once it warms again at least. The biggest kick in the ass was the dozen or so crocuses that were already sprouted and blooming.

Yay spring...

My corral bells were doing well too, but the puppy eats those.. so they don't stand a chance.

Its probably more complicated then it needs to be, but I'm hoping its at least fun.
There are some ulterior motives here. I'm hoping for a bit of a resurrection of something else with this.

I don't think we need to hear about your urrection, hi-res, lo-res, no-res. none of them. The boneyard got banished with hades for a reason.

Well ain't that some ****

A lot better than sitting in my office, watching the snow fall out my window, while doing this work.

I am now at a point where I had to send files to someone else to do their part of the work, so now I'm heading outside to do some work around the yard (kind of our rent for the week) before the files come back for me to finish it.

Only ****ty part is the transition to spring when it can't make up it's mind. The snow and cold is beautiful.

+1 to this. The cold and winter doesn't bother me at all. I've seen harsh winters and still had a good time with it. When you are wearing shorts one day and the next day you are breaking out salt for potential snow and ice, it blows.

I've only ever had maybe three calls while on vacation. The first time the person got cursed out.
The second call I answered the phone and left it on while I took a shower, only said hello fifteen minutes later. The third time the person on the other end got to listen to me chug a yard of booze at a resort bar.
Fun times :D

Yeah man. Even two years ago when we got 7 feet of snow in a day, it was a blast. It's fun shoveling roofs and jumping off into the piles.

That would of been awesome. The stuff you can do with THAT much snow...I would start with designing mazes for my kids to run...see how long they could get lost for lol

34°F right now. Hopefully silver lining is bug hatches from the warm days killed off by this. But if fresh produce is scarce and more expensive as a result then I'd rather keep the gnats and mosquitoes.

Hahaha...nice. But this was planned. I knew Tuesday morning was work morning on this trip before I left. When I get the files back, I probably only have about 10 minutes more of work to do. Now I'm procrastinating on the outside chores...which is kind of silly, as I can jam the stereo and drink a beer while doing that work, and there is no hurry to get it done.

That's amazing! Very good work.

I think its becoming a universal fact that most actual work is done on Tuesdays. Tuesday is maybe the busiest day out of the week for me. Coincidently its the day I spend the most time here posting

****. I'm just begging for work. Here and where I get paid.
Nothing. To. Do.

Morning.

On another note, at which point would you all start escalating contact with someone who has been unresponsive to messages since 3/18 and holds an item that will run you upwards of $1200 to replace if you don't get it back? I don't want to slander the dude, but frankly, emailing him on the 18th and waiting 3 days for a response, rinse and repeat has now turned into me emailing him nearly daily. I tried the # I had for him and it's not in service. I have his address so I am dropping a letter in the mail today to ask him to reply to my email. Old schooling it.

What else can you do to escalate if they are not responding?

Sucks about the garden. For some reason my crocuses didn't bloom this year. I love those things. They are always super early here and they makes me so happy during those last couple snow storms.

Wait, did the boneyard really get banished? How the hell did that get shut down?

I didn't even know I had crocuses, this is the first spring at the new house. Where they all sprouted, was a stretch of ground cover that I just mowed over last summer because it was catching garbage from the street. It was a nice surprise a few weeks ago when we had our first warm day and they all popped up.

I'm not really sure. I asked for access once pretty much right when I got the 1-year membership. Just cause I was curious after hearing about the swmbo stuff. Never visited again after that. No offense to any friendlies who may have been on there, but it was just a bunch of fairly unattractive swmbos, and then just porn that they found on google. Never understood why it was necessary on this site. From what I understand, there were often questionable images with regards to age, and the other rules about it being hardcore. Then apparently a bunch of dudes started posting themselves on there. I don't know. It just had the awkward vibe of a bunch of 13-year olds boys in their tree house huddled together over the playboy they found in their older brother's room.

This weather needs to **** or get off the pot. Frankly, I love 60-70F, but the severe up and down is killing me. Need to mow and mulch tonight after work. Dreading the aftermath.

Coffee. Getting hardwood refinished today, which is nice. Another step towards selling the house.

@1977brewer I have NOT forgotten that I owe you beer. Promise.

With $1200 on the line and knowing there address I'd camp out in front of there home till I got some answers.

Agreed. Not worth even bothering.

I'm going to assume there some consent issues (pictures posted against someone's will) and Tx decided it wasn't worth the legal risks.

Fair point there.

Is it just me, or does it seem that many more threads are being closed/locked than usual? Maybe we're just more riled up in an election season.

Also, who had dibs on the QOTD? Is it time?

Trying to PKU to see if I ever got the go-ahead from Duff but my QOTD:
What is your favorite yeast strain(s) and why?

Yeah, I mean, I'm sure there's a few more details to the story. But you gotta keep contact, at the least. If not, he'd be getting his æss handed to him. Then again, I don't take **** from dumb people like that.

Well I'm exicted-ish. I've got a time scheduled to go to http://sambat.com/ to use their batting cage and have a custom baseball bat made. Now just to decide on colours/style. I'm thinking something like this, because it's goddamn beautiful and it will spend 99% of its time on my wall at home:

Although it's also tempting to go a bit more crazy:

I thought you did.

Also, my favorite yeast strain is Notty, because I put it in anything. Want some (very slight) fruity esters? Ferment around 68°.

Want it clean as flock? 61°.

Floccs out hard, high attenuation, and I don't have to funk with starters.

Crap, I wouldnt even use that to beat a person that I found trying to rob my house

QOTD:

My most used is certainly the chico strain. Though I've been trying out some of the mangrove jack stuff recently. I do like english ale strains as well. Only brewed one lager so far, but am excited to find one lager strain that I really like. Sorry m00psy, but I'm a saison hater.

Needs more flames.

Meh, you can commiserate with jak. But I am curious why you went through all that trouble with that kviek strain. Those things are/seem farmhousy as crap

Also, pretty excited. Found out that, combined, we will be getting about a 23,000nok refund. About $2800! That should help pay back this trip we just went on, and I'll be able to get a pH meter now! Only problem is that we won't get it until between August and October...

What is your favorite yeast strain(s) and why?

05 - because it was the first one I ever used and has never given me a bad beer even when my fermentation temps were wonky.

Notty - starting to like its quick, violent fermentation..

QOTD: 1469 West Yorkshire. Fairly versatile, cleanish cold (although still definitely English) but quite fruity warm. Easy to manipulate attenuation. Super easy to top-crop. Love it.

QOTD: Chico. I've used it in like 75% of my beers. I'm sure I'll find something I like more once I get a stir plate. Solid 2nd to Belle Saison because I love me some saison.

I've only used it a couple times but I really liked Denny's Favorite 1450. I want to do some more batches with that. I usually use US-05.
