Ok it has been 30 days and my scoby just sits on the bottom and looks bored. I thought it might be a bit cool so a week ago I added a little heating pad. Still nothing but a little sludge on the bottom.

Any ideas or thoughts. Thanks folks.

How does it taste? I have had scobys sit on the bottom for a few weeks and the kombucha turned out fine. It is not common but can happen.

Try a taste and if it tastes good proceed and start your new batch.

Don't pay too much attention to the SCOBY. How does the tea taste/smell?
