I was looking for some advice on replacing a March 809.

To be completely honest, I was never happy with the fact that you had to always prime it. Not to mention I went through 2 pump housing because of the crappy plastic construction.

I'd like to stay under $200 if I could. Something that is self priming would also be a welcome change though it isn't entirely necessary.

Any recommendations?

Chugger Stainless? Supposedly motor issues overheat then don't run with hot product. Direct dimensional replacement of the March.

Personally, having sold pumps for years, worked as a sales/application engineer for a few different manufacturers, I say avoid them. I use a gravity approach for several reasons. Avoiding pumping is one, there are others.

How big of an operation you running?
