Got a 37.75lb grain bill and a converted keg to mash it in. Need to fit that and 47.19 quarts, 12(ish) gallons of water in there. (I usually round up to the closest gallon) Will there be room in my mash tun or if I want to go this big am i just going to have to invest in a nice big cooler? I've got a buddy in Iraq that is coming home in november and he's hungry for something big and dark. I want to make sure there's enough for him to get his share, oaked and not. Here's what i'm playing with:

11 gallons at 75% brewhouse eff.

I regularly mash grain bills like that in a 60 qt Igloo Ice Cube. The geometry works for batch or fly sparging, and you can make up to 15 gallons at a time, depending on the grain bill.
