As a new brewer, I am a little perplexed. I received a 7lb wheat LME from a friend. I am not exactly sure what to mix with it. I am thinking a simple hef. I am not seeing much for recipes. Any ideas?

Palmer has an American Wheat beer in his book/on his website, which uses 6 lbs of Wheat Malt extract only. I know it's not the hefe you were looking for, but it's something. I'd say if you used 7#, it wouldn't be too big of a difference (just an up in OG and ABV probably). Thoughts on this anyone else?

Wheat malt extract is typically a blend of wheat and pale. For example, Northern Brewer's is 65% wheat, 35% pale malt: http://www.northernbrewer.com/shop/northern-brewer-what-malt-syrup.html

Thus, for a simple hefeweizen, you don't need anything else. Use just the wheat LME, a bit of noble hops, a bavarian hefeweizen yeast strain, and you're good to go.
