Went out with SWMBO last night for our anniversary and stopped at a few different places to sample some beer and food. One of them was Crankers 5th Voyage Coconut Porter and she loved it. I like to brew things she might like so I'm going to make an attempt at this. Unfortunately there isn't much to go on.
Their website said it has 18 IBUs and is 6.2% abv. It seemed to be full bodied and had nice dark chocolate and toasted coconut flavors up front with a roasted finish. In other words it was a pretty tasty Porter with coconut in it.
Anybody have a recipe for it or even just experience with coconut? I figure I can just find a porter recipe that's close and add coconut but I'm not 100% sure how to go about adding the coconut. Are the oils a problem?
Any help would be much appreciated.
