Finished up my second batch today, brewing a traditional bock recipe from my LHBS (Bull City Homebrew), it reads:
1 lb LME Ilsen Light (Briess)
6lb, 6oz LME Munich (Briess)
8 oz Caramuch III (Wyermann)
8 oz Caraaroma (Wyermann)
8 oz Melanoidin (Wyermann)
1 oz Nugget hops (60 min boil)
1 oz UK Kent Golding hops (@30 min)
1 pkg SafLage West European Lager S-23
Steeped grains for 30 min, brought to boil, added extract and Nugget hops, added Kent Golding hops at 30 min, used the wort chiller to get it under 70F, added the yeast and its now in the basement in the 6.5g carboy primary.
Recipe called for OG of 1.068, I got 1.063 w/temp correction.
Here's hoping batch #2 goes as planned...
