Alright, some of you may have seen the old thread, and after reconsidering what they had, my inlaws put a bit of TLC into the fridge and they're looking to get a few bucks out of it. It's nicer and lower priced than a number of comparable fridges on eBay right now. They're looking for $300. I can help deliver within a reasonable distance if necessary.

Here are the details:
Vintage General Electric fridge from an estate sale. The fridge and freezer were both running when we unplugged it to move it out of the basement for the house to be sold, but is being sold as-is. It has multiple temperature settings with a defrost mode. 55 1/2" H x 34 1/4" W x 29 1/2". i can get my inlaws to get the inside dimensions to check for fit of ball/pin lock kegs.

Here are some pictures:

I doubt that is from the 1960's. It more likely late 40's early 50's. The late 50's to 60's started to get boxier and less round. They also had a much larger freezer. Look near the compressor there should be a tag. There might even be a date on some of the electronics.

The inlaws couldn't remember. It's from my wife's grandmother's place. She used it until she passed away.

Had that exact same model and used it for a lagering fridge many years ago.

That thing is a tank.

It would make an interesting kegerator if someone were to have the desire to apply a custom paint job, ala Hot Rod.

But $300 is a bit of $$ for what is likely a relatively inefficient fridge compared to what's newer. It would run forever though!

Make an offer. You see them on eBay and antique sites for four digits.

And the market for these is not energy star efficiency, it's the antique nostalgia.

That's why it wont sell here.....

Just an FYI to maybe help you move it-- I bought one older than that in great condition for $10, and have seen them in CA, CO, FL, PA, and MI for anywhere from $20-$75 regularly in that type of condition (i.e. nice, usable, but not restored "new" condition). Good luck.

They were going to have it picked up by the garbage disposal company. I'd rather take off their hands than to see it junked.

If you were closer I would take it in a heart beat. That thing is cool. My old man used a fridge like that for his kegerator.

Dude, if you weren't in Pennsylvania I'd definately consider it for probably $150 to $200. Would be a cool project, but Penn is a little far from Iowa.

Just a few miles north of Lancaster, 25 mins from Reading, 45 from Harrisburg and Philly, 75-90 minutes from Baltimore.

It's not going in the trash. I'll put it in my garage and make it a two-tapper before it goes to the dump.

They are listed for high dollars but they are not selling. If they do sell it's for like 50 bux, unless they are some pristine rare fancy model.

Why aren't they giving it to you?

Why aren't my inlaws giving it to me? They will if no one takes it by the end of the week. I could have had it from the beginning I guess. They got a call about it today from someone in Delaware. I might end up taking it for a two keg system I it doesn't sell.
