HI, new to the forum and I've begun doing some research to change out my gear. I've been doing 1 gal all grain brewing for a bit and really like the control of the small batches. Decided recently to give a shot at jumping up to 5 gal batches and I'm looking for advice on equipment volumes...What is the conventional wisdom for qt size of the mashtun and also qt size of kettle used to boil the wort

If Space/Time is limited...I use a 5 gallon Rubbermaid round DYI mash tun(Menards green one). 5 gallon SS pot(4 gallon boils) top off in fermenter. I use beersmith to help with recipe adjustments. The smaller pot will reduce your brew day by about an hour or more. I have limitations to using a stovetop(gas), cheap one my landlord bought.
