A new version of the BCS Desktop app has been released that will now run on Windows, Linux, Raspberry Pi and Mac.

BCS Desktop is designed primarily as a touchscreen app (although a touchscreen is not needed). The application gives you a very fast and customizable interface that requires no programming to use.

Download and information available here: http://forum.embeddedcc.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2755

Just an update.....

I've been using the Rpi version exclusively now for several weeks. Worked perfect for brew day and yesterday I spent the afternoon in the garage cleaning kegs, fermenters, etc. It was great to be able to just power on the monitor and everything was already there and running and I didn't have to drag the laptop out to the garage just to control the BCS.

I have updated the first two posts of the thread at the ECC forum to add Mac/OSX support information.

Performance was excellent on an older Mac Mini Core 2 Duo with OSX 10.10.5 (Yosemite).

Nice work Jon. Incredibly nice of you to share this.

I noticed in your updated post at ECC you referenced creating and using different layouts. To add to that, which made it easier for me, is to just create a 2nd folder with another copy of BCS Desktop.exe.

It will allow me to run a touchcreen on the fermentor and one on the brew system concurrently, both showing different Processes and Temp inputs, and from the same computer.

If, God willing, it all ever get finished. ;)

On another note, is it possible to incorporate the "http://Insert BCS IP Address Here/# command to your interface? It sends the "All Stop" command to the BCS.

Future versions already have this. (edit) I've added this to the interim release version 0.5.3. Please use the download link in the first post of the ECC thread.

BTW, it is not the # command, that is just what the URL shows when you hover over it. It is actually an API post to /api/estop with the value {"estop":true}.
