how does one go about it? Im going to soak everything in caustic to clean it up...(its been way too long), but i am not able to get the tap off the tower (shank either).

I have one, and its obvious how it hooks in, but there is no movement, and i dont want to do something wrong and break the wrench.

You sure you're turning it the right way? If you are facing the faucet hook the wrench in and turn clockwise to loosen.

yeah, that was the kicker, it goes the other way that is logical
tower is totally rebuilt now.
