As I was doing some cleaning the other day I came across my half used bag of dextrose I used to prime my stout.....only problem is, it's not dextrose, it was Malto dextrin!! I must have grabbed the wrong damn bag at the LBHS and primed my whole 5 gallon batch with it 2 weeks ago. CRAP!!

So now my question....do you feel I could somewhat save this by opening and adding Fermenter's Favorites™ Fizz Drops to each bottle? I have used these drops before and really like them. I just want to make sure I'm not going to create bottle bombs by going this route.

Or do you all think it's too late and that batch is screwed? Thanks for the advice.

According to Beersmith it is 5% fermentable.

If this is indeed the case then bottle bombs are not a concern. You've just added some body and chewiness to the stout. Small amount so not a big deal would be my guess

2 weeks in, if bombs are lurking they will be ready by now.

Open one with the appropriate protective gear.

My guess is, no carbonation.

Add fizz drops, recap and enjoy in 3 weeks.
