I'll find out when I brew next. That's also a good thing about using silicone, I can shave it until I get the flow I need. I'll be sure to report back.
If you are already putting a valve on that port, the simple and compact way would be to duplicate what you have on the drain port but turn the elbow 90 degrees.
Im pretty sure i already know the answer but is there any reason you couldnt just take one of your dip tubes for welded fittings and do this as well? Trying to piece out my equipment for my pots here im building in a month or so and many of the "whirlpool" arms are like 20-30, i dont see why a simple elbow or your only moderately more expensive dip tube wouldnt work?
