Has anyone tried using a small fish tank air to add oxygen to the wort before fermenting or any idea if it would work.

I'm setting up an aquarium pump with a sterile .2 micron filter attached to the pump then tubing from the filter to the 2 micron aeration stone.

Just curious, but why not just go with an aeration wand, like sold on many homebrew sites, and use the disposable red tanks from the hardware stores? With the aquarium pump you still will be under optimal O2 levels and will require more time whereas with pure O2 you can easily hit optimal levels in a minute or less.
