While there, one of these caught my eye:

It's made of HDPE.

Got me thinking what it would take to modify it.

What say ye'all?

I don't know about that one. It looks like that handle might be a PITA to get cleaned an sanitized.

I don't have any experience with a bottom draining fermenter.

Can I just drain off the beer through the smaller port, drain off 75% of the yeast and just refill it with new wort?

Like a house pale ale that I brew every 45 days.

Why pay $25 on this experiment, when perfectly suitable fermenters are available at that price or less?

I'm all for innovation, but I don't think this is it.

Mold releases can be toxic and long lasting. That is why we look for "food grade". The material might be adulterated in the manufacturing process.

It is 5 gallon? So 3/3.5 gallon batch size?

Oh yeah, space for the krausen.

hmmmm, BIAB size batches.

It appears to be roto molded.

HDPE has enough shrinkage while cooling to negate the need for mold releases.
