Hey all, basically, I took a few 5 gallon batches I wanted to try, put them in beersmith and scaled them all down to 1 gal batches, my question is, if the 5 gallon recipe had a 90 minute boil, do I keep it the same for a 1 gal batch or do I change to 45-60 minute?

Cheers

Unless you are using a Pilsen malt, the 90 min boil is not really necessary.
60 min will be just fine.

+1 to what brewkinger said.

I'll add, though, that there are other styles that benefit from a longer boil time. My Scottish ales all have boils from 90-120 minutes. The longer boils help with some flavor development.

In general, I'd go with what the recipe calls for - even when scaling. If you wondering about a specific recipe, post it here and someone will be able to help.
