I've never done a Red IPA or a Red ale at all, going for an American style with only American ingredients. Want some critiques and help with my recipe I've posted below from beersmith. Thanks!

Drop the 120 entirely, if go with 60 instead of 80, and substitute carafa I or II, 8 oz at most, maybe 6, don't go over 5% with it, and the crystal keep below 10%. I'd like to see you use nugget or warrior to bitter as well, simcoe would be interesting there too, it would lend a bit of pine.

That's a nice recipe. If I did anything I'd take the crystal 120 down to 4 oz. It's got a very distinct burnt, raisiny flavor that could overwhelm.

it does not look bad. i just bottled one very similar to yours on Mon. 10 to 15% crystal is the exceptable for the style.

10 lbs Pale Malt (2-Row) Canadian Malting Co (2.0 SRM) Grain 1 82.9 %

8.0 oz Crystal Malt Pale (Thomas Fawcett) (27.0 SRM) Grain 4 4.1 %
1.0 oz Chocolate Malt Pale (Thomas Fawcett) (250.0 SRM) Grain 5 0.5 %
0.25 oz Centennial pellet [11.40 %] - First Wort 20.0 min Hop 6 6.1 IBUs
1.10 Items Whirlfloc Tablet (Boil 15.0 mins) Fining 7 -
1.00 oz Cascade pellet [6.20 %] - Boil 15.0 min Hop 8 9.8 IBUs
1.00 oz Palisade [8.20 %] - Boil 10.0 min Hop 9 9.5 IBUs
1.00 oz Citra pellet 3 [14.10 %] - Boil 5.0 min Hop 10 9.0 IBUs
1.00 oz Citra pellet 3 [14.10 %] - Aroma Steep 0.0 min Hop 11 0.0 IBUs

2.00 oz Citra pellet 3 [14.10 %] - Dry Hop 7.0 Days Hop 13 0.0 IBUs

Looks OK to me, although if I were making a Red IPA, I'd just take my favorite IPA recipe (currently Yooper's DFH 60 Minute clone) and add 3-4 oz. of roasted barley.
