Advice for a Mac and Jacks Clone

Hi all,

I am planning on brewing a Mac and Jack African amber clone next weekend. I have some bitter orange peel, to add to give it some flavor. Would you recommend adding to the flame out or in the secondary or both. I recently made a vanilla rye IPA and added the vanilla pod to the secondary, it came through a little strong.

All advice is welcomed!
