I have been reading Gordon Strong's book recently (Brewing Better Beer). His baseline mash ratio ks 1.5:1. I've been using that (which is 20% higher than my former 1.25:1). It has worked very well and is getting me around 80% reliably. I also BIAB, however I do sparge (don't have space to no sparge).

I do this as well. I find more mash volume and less sparge volume gives me more room to dunk sparge in my smallish BK, too
