I have regularly noticed when sanitizing my fermenting vessels (in particular white ones) that after 15 minutes or so that containers that were once pristine take in these random block spots and flakes inside them. I can only guess this is being left behind by the idophor because the container was otherwise clean before I put it in there.
Is this to be expected and does this foreign matter present a sanitization issue? I have been going back rubbing out these marks and re-sanitizing to be sure but it's nice to know what's going on here. Maybe I'm adding too much idophor and that's contributing to the problem?
