I flat forgot to add whirfloc to my Helles/Maibock I just brewed up. Is a shame too, as everything else with the brew went perfectly. I'm planning on lagering this batch for about two months (it clocked in at 1086 OG). Given the length of lagering, do I really need to worry about clarity?

Are there post-fermentation clarifiers that you've used that you find useful and not detrimental to the character of the beer?

I forget whirlfloc/irish moss more often than I'd care to admit. Most of them still clear up just fine. You can add gelatin at any point, so I wouldn't about it until after you lager. If it's not clear at that point, go ahead and add gelatin.
