I'm on the tail end of primary fermentation and am trying to get the last few points of the gravity before racking by gently rousing the yeast. I noticed what feels like a hard mass right in the center of the bottom of the fermenter - glass, 6.5g. Rock hard. I used Safale US-05 and dry hopped with Galaxy and El Dorado. Has anyone experienced this?

Dumb suggestion, but my glass carboys have a hump in the bottom, could that be it?

I'd feel pretty dumb I that's what it is :) I thought about that but I just can't remember. It's the variety without the ribbing - just the giant smooth bottle look.

most carboys have a punt in the bottom. i guarantee that is what this is unless at some point you dropped rocks in your beer:drunk:

You'd think I'd have noticed this after 12yrs in service - drrr.
Thanks!
