I'm a big fan of Revolution's Straight Jacket (bourbon barrel aged barley wine), and I'd like to try and make a batch. Anybody have an idea what such a recipe would look like?
Sorry, a few years late here, but just heard Jim Cebak on Craft Beer & Brewing Podcast and he mentioned the grain bill - it's pretty simple. Also he noted that they use their "workhorse" yeast - Wyeast 1968 and the website notes 25 IBU.
- Pale Ale Malt
- Tiny bit of Caramelized Malt
- Special B
The Straight Jacket page on their site mentions "features American and Belgian malts" - I would assume Chateau Special B is the Belgian piece.
