the wyeast website says to use a loose fitting lid or al. foil or something. Why not an airlock on my starter? Does yeast need the o2? I aerated fairly well. I LIKE BUBBLES!!:drunk:
 
like ChshreCat said you want you starter to get as much O2 as possible to make the yeast reproduction as easy as possible for them. this will oxidize your starter but really you weren't going to drink it or pour the liquid into your wort anyway right?
