I have two screw top growlers that I would like to bottle my beer in. Can the carbonation occur in here without any hitches or do I need to have the type with the swinging clamp cap?

This is a HUUGE debate on here, some people say it can't take the pressure, other's say it can and there are several exploding growler threads on here....and make your own mind up.

Your best bet is to look at the info on here...we have a great search function...here is some of the threads

I would advise against this as i have seen the tops explode with my own eyes. My friends and i love experiments and we decided to try this since as Revy said some say you can and some say you cant. So we tried it and put my camera on it (which had to be cleaned after) and sure enough it exploded.
