While I was inside using the restroom. I came out to my garage to find all my mash water on the floor. I guess I didn't get one of my QDs completely engaged and after a few minutes it blew off. I had already run it for several minutes before going in.

I was mashing at 149 and it hadn't been sitting for more than 10 minutes.

Luckily it was a Kolsch - simple grain bill.

So, I "calmly" drove back to the grocery, refilled a 5 gallon container with RO water, came home, mopped the floor a little bit, heated up another 5 gallons of water, added 3 lbs fresh pilsner back to the MLT and re doughed-in.

Let it recirc for 90 mins.

Missed my estimated OG into boiler by .02!

:)

Floor is still really sticky, though. 5 gallons of hot water hasn't cleaned it up yet. When I move, the new owner of this house will never figure out why the garage floor is permanently tacky :)
