Does 1 oz pellets equal 2 oz whole leaf?

I have a recipe that calls for 2 oz whole leaf hops and I have never used whole leaf. Do I use 1 oz of hop pellets to equal 2 oz of whole hops? Or do pellets and whole leaf equal the same?
I do not have whole leaf only pellets.

No, I think 1oz pellets is equal to 1.1oz of whole-leaf. The difference is 10%...

If they're both dried, the difference is minimal, like 10-20%

Thanks all! I thought that pellets were more concentrated, but I guess not.

Not more concentrated...but more surface area since they are essentially ground up.

yea I think its ten percent for the alpha acid difference but if you're using them for flavor/aroma im not sure, the leaf hops maybe stronger.

I'd think it really just comes down to IBU's.

So 2 * 1.1 = you want roughly 1.8 oz pellet hops. Without a fine scale, it's hard to measure in that increment... but good luck.
