I believe the brown sugar has more.
One of the online charts states that you can use 2/3 cups brown sugar for priming ,but you need 1 1/4 cups of D.M.E.
The S.G. is the same .
They're pretty close to one another, right at 9 points per pound each. (Actually, brown sugar is ever so slightly more fermentable, but it's a difference of 1 point per five gallons).
