Got done with my first attempt at an AG robust porter. Turned out nice with the exception of the finish. It ended a little "soft", or maybe "weak"? What helps a beer finish nicely with a well balanced feel on the palette?

Sorry. It just finished with a lighter body than I would have liked. Flavor and aroma were fine, but I would have liked for a stronger "meatier" end when it sits on your palette.

try either putting some carapils in the mash next time or mash a couple degrees warmer. Both add to mouthfeel. Depends on the recipe which one you do.
