This is a public service announcement to those of you who have bought or are thinking of buying a new burner. The paint will catch on fire and make horrible smelling fumes. It will also burn on to the bottom of your kettle and make a sticky mess.
Before your brew day, take the burner to a well ventilated area and crank it up to burn off as much of that paint as possible. Another option would be to sand or grind away all the paint prior to brewing.
