the brewshop in my area is pretty poor on dry/liquid extracts. they only have dry light extract and liquid wheat malt extract (Muntons 50/50 wheat/barley malt).
I need to make a starter, for a Bock, in this case, so I don't want to use the wheat malt extract since I have no idea what would be the effect of this on the yeast.
The problem is that the DME is 2.5 times more expensive per kg then the LME! I know its higher on gravity, but only less then 20% more, so its much more expensive...

Can I use wheat LME for a non-wheat beer ?

Thanks

Wheat (50/50) extract will make very little difference to the yeast and the amount used in a starter will be undetectable in the final product.
