Open or closed regulator?

What is the typical closed setting for a regulator? The instructions dont say.

Pointing to the barb is on, sideways is closed. All ball valves are this way.

Thanks that is exactly what I needed.
 
So got everything hooked up and in the freezer. The psi for the tank dropped to about 600 once it was in the freezer. And into the "order gas" level. Is that normal?
 
Yeah, that one always reads that if you are keeping it in the cold. Once it starts to drop to zero then you know its almost gone.

That sounds about right. Mine is sitting at 500 psi and it is a fairly new fill. As long as the pressure stabilizes after a day or so you're fine, if it continues to quickly drop after a day or so, there might be a leak.
