CPBF woes

I have a counter-pressure bottle filler like the one pictured here, and upon trying to use it I noticed that the top of the section with the bleed valve (the top compression fitting around the tube) leaks. Now, this thing came pre-assembled, and I have no idea how to fix it, but it made the bleed valve useless by bleeding it off through the leak. Also made building up pressure in the bottles impossible. Any suggestions on how I can stop the leak?

Disassemble the cpf for spare parts (or return it if you just bought it) and build a $2.50 Biermuncher bottle filler (BMBF)...
