Wyeast 2565 Kölsch

Made this for a friend, kept 12 of them. A nice floral-citrus hop note, bread and crackers, dry and light. Refreshing. A really nice light sweet Kölsch fruit note adds a lot to it. This recipe owes a lot to Jamil; it was also our test-run for Sterling hops. They passed.

This isn't a terrifically original or interesting recipe, but it works out really well into a nice, balanced beer. I like them a little more adventurous, but this might be our most successful recipe to date. It's worth posting because the Sterling-Kölsch-Wheat marriage is just so wonderful.

Freshops via Noble Grape.

I've talked to Josh at lazyacres, though, and he plans to sell through the Noble Grape this year.

edit: he doesn't grow sterling. I guess it's freshops then.
