Trying to be as creative as I can with DME, what would you think about the addition of Wheat DME with a Dark or Amber DME? I've read in a lot of places about the benefit of mixing Wheat with Extra Light DME, but does the same apply with a darker blend?

I heard Wheat can enhance the head on the beer, so I was thinking about brewing a unique Stout using small amounts of Wheat DME or maybe even a Liquid Extract. I'm not sure if the wheat and barley flavors will blend or beat each other up in the mouth.

Is the wheat DME already mixed with 2-row?

I made a wheat extract and the LME was 60% wheat and 40% 2-row.

I suppose you could make a 1 gal batch or something and try it before you make a ton of it. It might work :D

Maybe try a pound of wheat malt DME. They make dunkles & other darker wheat beer,so it's worth a try. Think like Sam @ DFH.
